Course Update: Cubic Worlds

We added 8 new lessons to chapter 9 "Character Animation" (1:20 h of new content) to the Cubic Worlds course for Blender. This chapter is now complete.

In these new lessons, we will create a full character animation from a video reference, and then combine it with the walk cycle created before, to form a final animation. Then we will bake the animation and add a stop-motion effect.

With this chapter being done, Part 2 of the course is now complete. Watch the video below to learn what Part 2 is all about.

  • 9.11 - Non-Looping Animation - Part 2
  • 9.12 - Non-Looping Animation - Part 3

Next we will work on the last Part 3 "Scene Breakdowns", where we will have a closer look at some other Cubic Worlds scenes. We don't have a release time frame just yet, but it is planned for 2022. Stay tuned!

In this new chapter, you will learn all important basics on how to animate low poly human characters in Blender. We will create looping animations, use video references, combine modular animations, bake animations and much more.

Course Update: Master 3D Environments Course

Apart from exploring some new Geometry Node workflows, the 4 new lesson of Master 3D Environments in Blender will also show you how to export literally anything from Google Maps and import it in high quality into Blender.

We will also go through finishing up the scene's camera, lighting and atmosphere, adding mid-ground and background to the grasslands.

Here are the 4 newlessons of chapter 17:

  • 17.6 - Vertex Group Scattering with Geometry Nodes
  • 17.7 - Adding the City from Google Maps
  • 17.8 - Finalizing the Lighting and Shadows
