New Chapter Finished: Master 3D Sculpting in Blender

We added 5 new lessons to chapter 5 "Cute Creature Retopology" of the Master 3D Sculpting in Blender course update, this chapter is now complete.

The new lessons will finish up the steb-by-step retopology process of the cute creature, and we will learn about some free and paid tools that help us to auto-retopologize a sculpting in a matter of seconds, with the downside of being less accurate.

The next chapter is planned to be released in May 2021. There we will finish up the cute creature sculpting, by adding high resolution details.

Rendering misty scenes can be a tricky business, but by using the few tricks and tips I provide in these new lessons of chapter 9, it shouldn't be a problem for you. Also, you will learn how to put your rendered layers together in Blender's Compositor, to achieve an even better result.

With that, chapter 9 focused on getting real-world landscape data using the GIS add-on is now complete. 😀

We added the first 3 lessons to the new chapter 5 "Cute Creature Retopology", of the Master 3D Sculpting in Blender course update.

This new chapter will cover all important basics about retopology in Blender. First we prepare the retopology setup and tools, and then going through a steb-by-step retopology process of the cute creature.

After that, we will learn about some free and paid tools that can generate automatic but less accurate retopology mesh, to speed things up.

Two new lessons have landed in chapter 10 of the Master 3D Environments in Blender course! This time, you will learn how to create, shade and animate a cool Aurora Borealis element for your Blender scenes!

The best thing is, it is all just simple geometry and nodes in the Shader Editor. Anyone who's already gone through chapter 5 and 6 of the course will surely find the workflow familiar.

New Lessons: Master 3D Environments in Blender

The first 7 lessons have just landed in chapter 10 of Master 3D Environments in Blender! That means 42 minutes of new tutorial content.

In it, we will be focusing on creating a polar landscape filled with tree particles. For the landscape we will use techniques and assets we already created in chapter 4 and 8. If you did not go through those lessons, don't worry, you can just download all the assets from chapter 10 project files appended to the lessons.

A very important part of the chapter is a workflow to convert your 3D trees into 2D particles on planes. That will significantly speed up rendering and allow for thousands and even millions of tree in your scenes.

Chapter 4 "Cute Creature Base Sculpting" of the Master 3D Sculpting in Blender course update is now complete.

We're continuing the Blender 2.9+ update for our Blender sculpting course. This time we added 6 new lessons to chapter 4, and we also added the download section of this chapter.

In this chapter you'll learn how to create the base sculpting of the cute creature, which is the first milestone in the creation process and will be continued in the next chapters.

We will continue adding more content soon, with the next chapter about retopology.

We're continuing the Blender 2.9+ update for our Blender sculpting course. This time we added 5 new lessons to the new chapter 4 "Cute Creature Base Sculpting", in which you will learn how to create the base mesh for the creature.

We added a new translucent water lesson and some terrain pieces to download and displace to the Master 3D Environments in Blender course.

One of the water types that is very popular in the world of CG landscapes, is that wonderful translucent water, with white sand peaking through, surrounding beautiful tropical islands.

Well, that's exactly what you'll learn to make in this new lesson: 11.13 - Translucent Water in Cycles

Apart from the island terrain piece, all students now get access to several terrain pieces to download and fill your landscape scenes with.

You will learn how to do that in chapter 8, where in the new lesson "8.8 - More Terrain Pieces" you will now find a gallery of other terrain textures and displacement. Use them freely in your projects. 🙂
